argghhh, that’s the sound of me coming out of my blogging hibernation. but, due to some discrete jostling by my brother, i have decided to post. madden 08 came out on tuesday, i think 8/14 is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated “holidays” of the year. i know it is for me. as i’ve stated on here 3,214 times, i own a nintendo wii. however, i am not the proud owner of madden 08 for the wii. no, no, no my friends, i purchased the ‘holy grail’ (aka madden) for that big, black, boxy, non-remote using, dusty playstation 2. why, you might ask? because when it comes to madden damnit, i don’t mess with a good thing. call me a sucker, i don’t care, but i’d probably pay the $5o just for updated rosters alone. good news, because that is essentially what i just bought. madden 08 for ps2 is, to me, a replica of madden 07. any new changes and additions are only being added to the wii, ps3, and xbox360. the ps2 didn’t get the gang tackling option, and any other add-on that was truly, completely irrelevant to me anyway. do i care? that’s a tricky question i just asked myself. yes and no. yes, because i’m quite confident that i can already dominate just as easily and readily as i have in past editions of madden. and by dominate, i actually mean castrate. it would have been nice if there was that introductory phase of a new video game, where you’re a little lost and your fingers aren’t finding the right buttons, but when i say that madden 08 is a replica of 07, i mean the two are almost identical in gameplay. the computer’s artificial intelligence is ramped up just a tad. i could tell that right off the bat, within the first two games. my giants had to squeak out an overtime win 13-10, in embarrassing fashion, over….i forget, it might have been the lions though. either way, anytime you go to overtime with the computer in madden, it’s akin to getting kicked in the manparts. if it’s not a loss in the record books, it certainly is in the fragile ‘minds’ of the players. ah yes, to answer the ‘no’ part of the earlier stated question to self. well it’s obvious. no, i don’t care, because it’s still madden. as long as ea sports doesn’t do anything too extremely drastic, one cannot mess up the madden formula. i just thought of an interesting addendum to this post. i’ll write it down on a post-it note, so i remember to post about it tomorrow. or atleast i’ll look at the post-it note, and then determine if i feel like writing about it or whether a days time has turned the idea to complete poo. are you on the edge of your seat in suspense, i can’t quite see from here.
