workin on my night moves

sick1.jpg

i’m working with the daily morning paper all this week. that means i work the graveyahhhd shift all week, 5 p.m. – 1 a.m.

the person who does my job for the morning paper is on vacation this week and since i’m such a fucking nice guy, i’m covering for her and doing my job at the same time. i’m a wunderkind.

what sucks is that i think i’m starting to get sick. i had a stiff neck and sore throat last night (tuesday) and when i woke up this morning afternoon, my entire body was fatigued and sore. i’m achey, sweaty-er than usual, i have a headache and i’m exhausted. all this information leads me to believe that i might be coming down with something. so i’m guzzling orange juice, taking multi-vitamins and ingesting advil every four hours in hopes of killing this sickness before it really sets in.

so, i’m kinda stuck. i’d feel pretty bad and unreliable if i had to call out sick when i’m supposed to be covering for someone else. not only that, i’d be calling out sick at a newspaper i don’t really directly work for. that option doesn’t float with me, so i guess i’ll tough it out. i could work from home since my job is completely done by computer, but there’s a few too many snags in that plan. anyway, this post is a major disappointment, i’ll get sick, don’t you worry. i even got a flu shot. that’s as good as a cure-all in my book.

  1. I think the flu shot makes you more likely to get sick.

    That’s why I don’t get them.

You could pick up some Airborne. I’ve never tried it, but it’s worth a shot maybe. I would also drink cranberry/pomagranite. That stuff makes you immune to anything!
