that second wire on the right, that’s the one she forgot

hey hey. so that whole sick thing i posted about last time, i’m still battling through it. it’s kind of confusing. i’m not really sick, but i am. this is just the theory i’ve been cooking up in my little mind of mine. i got a flu shot maybe a month and a half ago. then last week i get this sickness/bug whatever it was. i felt like complete crap for two days. one night at work i was really achey and chill-y, and then, the next day, the worst symptoms were gone. i literally woke up the next day after that shitty night at work and felt considerably better. since i was so achey and chill-y, i’m assuming that i had a fever of some sort. i still consider myself sick today, although my nose isn’t runny, my throat doesn’t hurt and i don’t have a headache or anything. i’m just kind of fatigued and i have that sicky look on my face.

anyway, could the flu shot have had anything to do with this? when i started feeling bad about a week ago, it was the bad type of sick. not a little cold, that comes and goes in three days time. i’m talking stay in bed, walk around draped in a blanket, chicken noodle soup, 102°F fever sick.

i’ve heard people state that after they get a flu shot, they come down with a little cold or something. i didn’t really buy that, until it quite possibly just happened to me. so, my question is: could it be that my flu shot helped me get better quicker, or lessened my symptoms, even if what i had was not the flu? i’m not expecting an answer.

• also of note, i won the office football pool again. it wasn’t this past weekend, but the weekend before (12/9). i should have posted something before this so i could have gloated the hell out of it, but i went 14-1. i won $14 this time. more importantly, a staff wide e-mail was sent out to let everyone know who won, me, muh fuggas.

• i bought/won this old playstation 2 game from a series of light-gun shooting games called time crisis. i used to have time crisis 2, but i sold it when i was in college. so this time i bought time crisis 3 and the guncon 2 (seen above), which is a light-gun, much like the gun used in nintendo’s duck hunt. basically, you point and shoot. but, upon arrival in the mail. i hooked the old girl up and i couldn’t shoot the broadside of a doggone barn! apparently the seller forgot to send me another wire that comes with the package. the gun and game work, but the gun cannot be calibrated. you can put the barrel of the gun on the tv screen and shoot and it still does not register. so i e-mailed the seller a couple hundred times and she discovered what the problem was. she’s an idiot. seriously, if you’re selling something on ebay, know a little about what you’re selling. maybe it would also be wise to include all things that originally came with the object you are selling. but hey, that’s me. i’m crazy … like a fox.

also included in my winnings were tiger woods golf 2003 and super swing away golf. haven’t played either, but tiger woods games are sweet. it’s only a matter of time before i dust off ol’ eldrick 2003.

• my christmas luncheon for work was today. it was held at a restaurant in close proximity to where i work. and by close i mean about 20 feet down the block. i don’t mean to get too graphic or sound like a whiner here but, the food was decent, i expected better. it was one of those deals where you walk up to a bunch of steam trays or whatever the fudge they’re called and someone gives you a steaming heap of a food-like substance. no pizza, no burgers. i got stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes, carrot cake and an afternoon spent walking to and from the bathroom. despite that, it was a good time. i got to sit and talk with co-workers in a relaxed setting. let loose a little bit, which was nice. oh, and i got paid for it, i think. at least that’s what my timecard says. which is nice.
